Early Talk 0-5
Early Talk is I CAN's highly successful training and accreditation* programme aimed at the early years workforce in partnership with parents to support the communication needs of children from birth to age 5. The Early Talk 0-5 training programme has been independently evaluated as enhancing the learning environment for all children, with a long-term positive impact on staff and practice.
What we offer
Early Talk Accreditation Programme
I CAN’s Early Talk Accreditation products are designed to help teachers and staff in early years schools, maintained nurseries, PVI settings and Childminders to:
Create communication rich environments
Improve their knowledge of communication development and how to identify children with SLCN
Improve the speech, language and communication skills of the children they work with
Work collaboratively with speech and language therapists and other support agencies on education plans for individual children
Provide good information and practical strategies for parents
Early Talk 0-5 - Working With Under 3's
The course is aimed at early years/pre-school practitioners who want to increase their knowledge of the approaches and strategies that can be used in settings to support the development of speech, language and communication in children aged 0-3 and speech and language therapy assistants who have limited experience of working with children in early years / pre-school settings.
Early Talk 0-5 - Working With Parents
Designed for family facing practitioners, including health visitors, early years practitioners and family support workers, with the aim of enhancing parental support of early communication development.
Early Talk 0-5 - Supporting Communication and Language /Enhancing Communication and Language
The course is aimed at early years/pre-school practitioners who want to increase their knowledge of the approaches and strategies that can be used in settings to support the development of speech, language and communication in children aged 0-5.
Early Talk Boost is a targeted intervention aimed at 3-4 year old children with delayed language helping to boost their language skills to help narrow the gap between them and their peers. The programme aims to accelerate children’s progress in language and communication by an average of 6 months, after a nine week intervention.
Talk Boost KS1
Talk Boost KS1 is a targeted intervention for 4-7 year old children with language that is delayed, including children in Reception classes. The programme is delivered in primary schools by classroom teachers and teaching assistants and provides a structured programme that boosts children’s progress in language and communication by an average of 9 - 18 months after a ten week intervention.
