Tiny Hands Big Futures will be based in Frecheville Community Centre,
Churchdale Road, Sheffield 12 from October 2018
The business will be based within the centre and will be called the Hugi Hub.
The Hugi Hub will be under the Umbrella Company Tiny Hands Big Futures and will offer a mix of training for early years educators, conferences, play and exploration centre for children and families, foundation stage 1 and 2 visit days. We aspire to offering a place of belonging and inclusivity, offering specialist sessions for children with additional needs and disabilities who may need to come along when it is very quiet and tailored to their individual needs. A small space has been chosen to enable us to create the 'Hygge' atmosphere and principles.
At Hugi Hub we draw inspiration from the ‘Hygge’ lifestyle approach from Denmark.
We believe in living in the moment while appreciating and enjoying everything we have.
The Hugi Hub is designed with the following ‘Hygge’ Concepts and Principles in mind: cosiness, gratitude, friendship, atmosphere, warmth, presence, equality and belonging, presence, listening, togetherness, in the moment and happiness.
Our children are the most precious belonging we will ever have! We shape them and they shape the future…….
Reggio Emilio originating from Italy, is an educational philosophy that we have also taken inspiration from for the Hugi Hub environment so that it provides opportunities for children to explore different way of thinking, constructing, negotiating, problem solving and developing and expressing thoughts and feelings. How engaged and deep in their play a child is will deepen their learning so capturing their attention is our main goal.
