Hugi Hubs Therapeutic Curriculum
We work in partnership with schools/commissioners to agree the curriculum that we are focusing on for each individual child. The AP programme and the targets for the child will be written in partnership and be based upon the My Plan, EHCP, other professional guidance considering the child’s curriculum level.
All our children are assessed, observed and tracked using the Tapestry Software. Tapestry is accessible by children, parents, carers, schools and other professionals. The system allows everyone who has log in to add photos, observations, experiences, record progress, track to a curriculum, leave messages and is used as an additional daily communication tool.

Our focus is to foster emotional, social and academic growth through both structured and flexible approaches that support each child’s unique learning style.

Forest School: Learning Through Nature
We offer a Forest School programme where children can learn and explore the natural environment at their pace. Our Forest School offers a child-centred learning experience which is learner-led to allow children to explore their interests and direct their own learning. Forest School is a long-term process designed to support deep, sustained learning in a natural, rich educational environment. Our focus is on the holistic development of the physical, emotional, social and cognitive growth of each child. In Forest School we promote managed risk-taking to build confidence and resilience, leading to in increased ability to overcome challenging situations in all areas of life. We aim to foster a deep connection with the natural world, promoting environmental stewardship, a sense of community and belonging. We are led by trained Forest School practitioners who are skilled in outdoor education and risk management.
Child-Led & Adult-Initiated Activities
We believe in an holistic, flexible learning environment that empowers children to take the lead in their own learning. Our curriculum includes both child-led activities where learners can explore topics of interest, and adult-initiated activities designed to guide and support specific learning goals. This balanced approach ensures that children engage deeply with learning while also benefiting from structured input to develop key skills.
Supporting Early Writing: Squiggle Wiggle
We understand the importance of supporting early writing development in a creative and engaging way. Our Squiggle Wiggle approach encourages children to develop the fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination needed for writing through playful activities. These activities help to build the foundation for writing in a way that feels fun and natural for every child.
Maths: Measuring & Number Activities
Mathematical development is integral to our curriculum, and we incorporate measuring and number activities into daily routines. From simple counting exercises to engaging activities in tuff trays, children are supported in developing their number sense and fine motor skills. These hands-on activities encourage active participation and provide practical learning experiences that help reinforce mathematical concepts.

Dance & Song for Rhythm
We use dance and singing to support rhythm, coordination and language development. Engaging in rhythmic activities aids in self-regulation, body awareness and emotional expression, all of which are crucial for children with SEMH, ADHD and ASD. Our sessions are designed to be enjoyable and immersive, helping children to build confidence while exploring their creativity.
Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT)
Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) is integrated into our daily activities to support children’s communication skills. Whether through structured individual sessions or group activities, SaLT helps children improve their verbal and non-verbal communication, social interaction and language understanding. We benefit from the input of an independent speech and language therapist who is on hand to advise on a target approach to the development of each individual child’s communication journey.
